Inspired by the Bhārabāhaka or the weight bearers, our Yaksha bowl is a bespoke creation.
Pot bellied and dwarfish, bhārabāhakas are yaksha-like figures that seem to uphold sections of a temple. A popular motif found in the temples of Odisha, these delightful corpulent figures have their own special place amongst the sinuous and graceful figures of the temples.
Guardians of nature and symbols of fertility, this adorable yaksha might not be large enough to hold up a grand temple but is happy to hold aloft a handcrafted brass bowl full of fruit and goodness.
