Inspired by the visual language of Mastermoshai Nandalal Bose, this work reflects the quiet philosophy of Santiniketan—where architecture rises gently from nature, never apart from it.
The structure is framed by the flora of Santiniketan, reminding us that learning, making, and living here have always grown in conversation with the land.
On the upper floor, a woman immersed in fine art speaks of contemplation and focus. Below, a man shaping an idol embodies craft, labour, and devotion of the hand. Together, they echo Santiniketan’s enduring tradition—where art and craft are not separate pursuits, but two breaths of the same practice.
At the threshold, a modest pop-up store anchors this ideal in the present—art not preserved behind walls, but shared, used, and lived with.
This is the lineage Karu follows: creating with thought, making with care, and allowing tradition to evolve without losing its soul.
Note: Each artwork is delivered as a rolled up print wrapped in paper and a protective sheath. A print is never delivered framed unless a request is specially placed at concierge@karu.co.in
